Re: Hardware compatibility - HP server & SAN MSA1000

Question is if you want to stay wth this old equipment or if you want really new systems (like Gen9 and Gen10 servers). In this case you should consider a MSA1000 or MSA2000 in G5. (MSA1050/MSA2050).

Re: Hardware compatibility - HP server & SAN MSA1000

I know that is an old infrastructure. We want to keep MSA1000 and try to improve server infrastructure.I also know that Gen9 or Gen10 are better servers, but if they aren´t compatible with MSA1000,...

Thanks a lot for your response. As of now, there is a single host writing into those mount points(in future, two host would write).  It is not a VM. We checked the speed using 'dd' command & found...

Looking through the logs, the array currently looks healthy (though I am not a tech supprot engineer).  You have 24 x 2TB NL disks. The disks are broken up into two linear vdisks with a variety of...

Also, for what it's worth, the firmware is quite old. GL225R003 is the most current and can be found herehttp://h41111.www4.hpe.com/storage/msafirmware.html

Re: Slow write operations on Storage MSA 1040

Your analysis is 100% correct. Due to some network issues, other host is kept disabled. Hence, all data is getting written from Controller A. Workload has not changed. No data fragmentation was...

No access on network but direct connect works

Just putting a MSA2040 (SAS) in and when it powered on the management i/f got an IP lease from the DHCP server, other devices such as two DL360s and their iLOs got a lease around the same time. These...

I gurantee that the MSA management IP's will respond to a ping. Something is funky in your network setup. If you plug your laptop into a switch port ont the same VLAN and give it an IP on the same...

Re: No access on network but direct connect works

Great, so sounds like you've narrowed it down to something on the switch; good to know. The MSA shouldn't give you any trouble with what you are trying to do. I would suggest going with static IP's on...
