I have not looked here for a long time. I replaced the resistor R149 with 3.65 k. Now, by adjusting the tuning resistor VR101 - I got 14.04 volts at the output of the power supply. Protection circuits and error compensation work within the factory settings. But I need 15-16 volts at the output. I am looking for a solution, but have not yet found it. Here are some circuit diagrams. Surely there are a lot of mistakes. But this gives at least some idea (global) of the regulation and feedbacks. My goal was to increase the tension. Therefore, I paid little attention to drawing nodes that I did not need.

Re: Repairing YM-3591AAR power supply (HP P/N 81-00000051)
I need a power supply for the charger of car batteries. So I use another, quiet fan. To do this, I had to trick two fans of the power supply. I made a generator on a 74HC14D chip. Two generators in one chip case. Each generator for each fan. The pulse frequency corresponds to the average frequency of the tacho pulses of the native fans. (a typical scheme, I lost or wrote down on paper at that moment). Now I can turn on the fan only when a certain temperature is reached. I made a thermal switch circuit for another fan. It has no PWM adjustment. I would be grateful if someone would continue my work to increase the output voltage.

Here are some of the documentation.
Re: Repairing YM-3591AAR power supply (HP P/N 81-00000051)
More data. There are many mistakes, but for me it does not matter. I am making a block diagram. My goal is to understand and increase the output voltage. Maybe someone will continue my work. I will experiment. If there is a positive result, then I will draw a sequence. And let the virus bypass us all!
MSA Space question
Please see attachment ,
i have 2 pools with 1.8 TB disks, one is 12 disks deep, one is 10 disks deep.
i'm trying to see if i can create another virtual volume on pool A and how big is safe to do so.
having trouble with the over committment ability. both pools have over committment disabled.
Sorry for blurry picture.
Re: HP SAN MSA 2312i : Vdisk reconstruct failed. Command failed. (error code: 1).
Hello
I know its been a while since you worked on this issue, I'm facing the same scenario here, construct failed while 3 drives has issues, is it possible to post the solution you found here?
Re: HP SAN MSA 2312i : Vdisk reconstruct failed. Command failed. (error code: 1).
Request you to kindly open new forum and I will try to help you for sure but please remember this is very critical issue and related to data loss situation so it's always good to take HPE official support rather than trying in public forum.
If your vdisk configured in RAID 5 then more than 1 drive issue create problem and there are 3 drives having issue here then data recovery difficult. WIthout checking MSA log data recovery will be very difficult.
Hope this helps!

Re: MSA Space question
Hi there,
You would be able to see the maximum Volume size that you could use when you click on the Create virtual Volume Option.
Usually the safe size to create a new Volume is the uncommited space within a particular Pool.
Cheers! Regards

Re: Repairing YM-3591AAR power supply (HP P/N 81-00000051)
There is a transistor Q147. It seems to be 19 volts in standby mode. But now my power supply is broken. It goes instantly into protection mode. The duty room is working. Everything happened when the power supply was raised above the table. My fingers touched the findings of the elements when I turned it over to measure the parameters. He screamed and went away in defense. Since then, he will blink at the start and go to defense. That's all. The experiment is probably over.
MSA 2050: Read Cache, how to check if it works?
I installed a 960GB SSD disk, to the pool I added a disk group, type "read cache". no problem. but also no apparent benefit.
I did some short tests but I didn't see any improvements, probably because the cache on the controllers is already sufficient.
is there any way to have (GUI, SNMP, CLI, ...) information about the operation of this disk? a hit cache, or something?
Re: MSA 2050: Read Cache, how to check if it works?
If you have configured read cache then this is related to read performance only. If you try to write in this array then you may not see any significant improvement.
So it depends upon what and how you are testing performance for this array.
You can install IO meter which will virtually create load on the array for testing purpose.
You can get many videos to learn the use of IO meter.
http://www.iometer.org/doc/downloads.html
You can refer below link to get some idea as well,

HP 2040 expand pool with new disk group
I had a MSA 2040 with 7 disks. 6 disks for data and 1 disk for Global Spares. I created a pool A with 6-disks group, type was virtual pool and raid 0+1 .
Now, i buy 5 new disks, same information, same type, same size ...
I want to expand this 5 new disks to pool A(virtual pool).
It is work ? How can do this?
Thank you
Re: HP 2040 expand pool with new disk group
It's better if you can buy another same size same type drive. Then create new Virtual Disk Group. Then you need to add this new VDG to Pool A as per procedure below,
To add a disk group
1. In the Pools topic, select Action > Add Disk Group.
The Add Disk Group panel opens.
2. Set the options.
3. If you are creating a linear disk group, select the RAID [number] or SPARE option to determine if you will be selecting
disks for the RAID configuration or as dedicated spares for the disk group.
4. Select the disks.
5. Click Add.
If your disk group contains a mix of 512n and 512e disks, a dialog box displays. Perform one of the following:
To create the disk group, click Yes.
To cancel the request, click No.
If the task succeeds, the new disk group appears in the Related Disk Groups table in the Pools topic when you select
the pool for it in the pools table.
Hope this helps!

Re: MSA 2050: Read Cache, how to check if it works?
Thanks.
I tried with the IOMeter tool: so I saw a significant increase in performance. As the cache gets populated, the results get better and better.
The IOPs were initially less than 5k, now more than 40k.
However, I expected there to be something at the managemnt console level that would inform me of the status.
It is not a big deal.
Re: MSA 2050: Read Cache, how to check if it works?
You can refer Page 136 of MSA2050 SMU guide which talk about Performance,
https://support.hpe.com/hpesc/public/docDisplay?docId=a00017707en_us
If this is not helping then only option 3rd party tool like IO meter.
As this is entry level Storage box of HPE so this much only designed and available.
Hope this helps!

Re: Problem with SSH/TELNET connection to MSA 2040
Hello
,did you resolve your issue ? i have a same problem.
Problem with SSH/TELNET/HTTP/CLI connection to MSA 2040
Hi,
I can't connect to the Management Services include all of them SSH, TELNET, HTTPS, and CLI.
but the Disk Volumes still accessible by server and all VMs works fine without any issue.
when try to connect over HTTPS, the answer is "the Page Not Found"
when try to connect over SSH or Telnet, the connection was established and ask for user and password, when enter a correct credential the connection will be termnated "cut off connection and close the terminal", but when try to enter a wrong credential it shows wrong user or password.
when try to connect over Mini USB for console connection, the connection was established and ask for user and password, when enter a correct credential it shown the following error
home/appuser/appshell: line 34: mccli: not found
------------------------------------------------------------
Trying the following without any result:
1: unplugging power cable from storage for hours, and insure stop LED blinking on controllers.
------------------------------------------------------------
LED Color on Controllers.
the cache LED is Green on both controllers
Thank You
Re: Problem with SSH/TELNET/HTTP/CLI connection to MSA 2040
Hello Ahmed,
Are you getting the same responses from both the A and B controllers?
Also, when trying to connect via mini USB be sure to have the COM port correctly configured. The default COM port settings are usually set at a BAUD rate 8200. For the MSA use the following:
Baud rate 115200
Data bits 8
Parity None
Stop bits 1
Flow control None
Be sure you are connecting to the serial mini USB port and not a service port.
Cheers,
Shawn

Re: Problem with SSH/TELNET connection to MSA 2040
Hi,
I would suggest to use Putty as SSH/SFTP client to connect to your array (instad of CMD>Telnet of Windows). Also make sure 1° the required services are active from the SMU and that 2) the userID as the permissions to use them.
Bonus question: Are you using LDAP to connect to your array? If yes, then unecure protocols (Telnet / FTP) will be disabled.
Cheers,
Dardan
Re: Problem with SSH/TELNET connection to MSA 2040
Hello,
You need to upgrade your system. GL210 firmware is not an active version of firmware. You can check the current firmware at the following site.
https://h41111.www4.hpe.com/storage/msafirmware.html
There have been many fixes and enhancements to the CLI, user names and passwords, and locales made in current firwmare since GL210.
Cheers,
Shawn
