Hello,

You need to upgrade your system. GL210 firmware is not an active version of firmware. You can check the current firmware at the following site.

https://h41111.www4.hpe.com/storage/msafirmware.html

There have been many fixes and enhancements to the CLI, user names and passwords, and locales made in current firwmare since GL210.

Cheers,
Shawn

Actually this problem occurred after one of the Volumes has full space usage.

I threw out the 5.1 V / V converter unit completely, unsoldered the board. And the power supply started without this board. The transistor U604 042N03LS broke through it. And probably the U31460 chip. But I do not need 5 volts.

I was resolved the problem after trying all options available.

the firmware was corrupted on both Controller, and the only Service available to update the firmware via FTP TCP 21, all other service is corrupted.

The FTP Client used is Windows CMD, google it if you want, (Upgrade Firmware MSA 2040 FTP)

Hello

I can't connect to the Management Services include all of them SSH, TELNET, HTTPS, and CLI.

but the Disk Volumes still accessible by server and all VMs works fine without any issue.

when try to connect over HTTPS, the answer is "the Page Not Found"

when try to connect over SSH or Telnet, the connection was established and ask for user and password, when enter a correct credential the connection will be termnated "cut off connection and close the terminal", but when try to enter a wrong credential it shows wrong user or password.

when try to connect over Mini USB for console connection with the right console setting, the connection was established and ask for user and password, when enter a correct credential it shown the following error

home/appuser/appshell: line 34: mccli: not found

------------------------------------------------------------

Trying the following without any result:

1: unplugging the power cable from storage for hours, and insure stop LED blinking on controllers.

2: try working with one controller only.

3: try to plug the controller without flash card

4: try removing all HDD.

5: try UPgrade firmware with cp039922.exe

6: try to make a reset password with the user restoredefaults and SN of the controller, without any result just show many errors.

7: try to change the controller slots, without any result, but I see the IP not saved on the controller because when changing Controller B to slot A, the controller B take the IP that used by the controller A.

so there is any way to hard reset the whole storge, the data is not necessary I swapped it to another storage.

Thanks

Hello,

For resetting the password you need to be direct attached to the controller using the USB cable. You cannot run this command via Telnet or SSH. Be sure to use an "s" at the end of the command.

CLI# restoreusers

There is no one single command to wipe the entire system, due to the  risk of data loss.

Hello,

You might want to reference the following guides.

P2000 SMU (System Management Guide): https://support.hpe.com/hpesc/public/docDisplay?docId=emr_na-c02520791

P2000 CLI Guide: https://support.hpe.com/hpesc/public/docDisplay?docId=emr_na-c02520779

Please be aware that the P2000 is an End of Life Product. Storing critical data on an array that is EOL is risky. Please do verify the firmware on the system and drives is at the latest versions. You can check the firwmare versions here: www.hpe.com/storage/msafirmware

Need help MSA 2040 + DS2700 HDD QTOF & LEFTOVR status

$

We have MSA 2040 + DS2700 (out of warranty). One of Vdisk health is FAULT and Status is QTOF( Quarantine Offline), because the Air Con suddenly damage and maybe overheat ,so some server and storage automatically shutdown.

We config (RAID 10,16 DISKS)
12 Disks on MSA 2040 health status is OK.
4 Disks on DS2700 health status disk is LEFTOVR.

Could anyone help me please how to solve this problem ? I am sure the disk is OK . I assume because the power on enclosure 2 suddenly offline, so the VDISKS RAID 10 from 16 disks , detect 4 disks is missing, so the status became QTOF.

Should I use metadata cleanup first and use TRUST  command to add 4 disks into the VDISK , is it possible ? How about the probability I lost my data ?

Please kindly give me some advice (step by step), how to solve this QTOF status and repair the LEFTOVR status.

Thank you very much for your kind attention.

If you are sure that drive health is fine then you can execute below command from Vdisk owning Controller CLI,

dequarantine vdisk <vdisk_name>

show vdisks

If vdisk state came back to FTOL then no need to do anything else otherwise if vdisk state came as Offline then try below,

trust enable

trust vdisk <vdisk_name>

show vdisks

Hope this helps!

 Hi Subhajit,

Thank you very much for your prompt reply.

I already try your advice, but it didn't work. I assume it didn't work because 4 disks at enclosure 2 still ini LEFTOVR status or should  I  metadata cleanup first all four disk at enclosure 2, is it high risk all my data will be lost after cleanup ?  What should I do ?

Please remove the outputs as you shouldn't place any serial number for any of the device in public forum.

Don't even think of clearing metadata until log analysis done in detail by HPE support. As the vdisk in RAID10 so we need to check what all mirror pair disks are down. If you by mistake clear metadata of two drives which are in RAID1 sub-vdisk then you will lost your data.

So suggest you to log a case with HPE and take proper help.

Hope this helps!

hi,

I have an issue with my HP P2000 G3 the device has 4 ISCSi port and 2 controllers, when I try to ping the IP of the controller A or B it's not replaying even when I am directly connected to the controller management port.

I have console access and I can see the IP address configured properly but still cannot ping them

any idea ??

Hello Mustafa,

It sounds as if your controllers are fine but you are instead having a network issue. Since you have console access you might want to try the following.

1. Can you ping one controller MC IP address from the other controller?

2. Is the gateway address on the controllers correct and pingable?

3. Can you ping the switch or an outside address from the controller?

4. Are the LEDs on the controller host ports actively blinking green?

If all of these steps are not working correctly you need to investigate your network.

Cheers,
Shawn

Re: MSA2324i vDisk Rebuild Problem

Thanks for you assistance.

I think I have at least 3 faulty disks as it shows the same error with different serial numbers :

There is a problem with a FRU. (FRU type: disk, enclosure: 1, device ID: 3, vendor: HP , product ID: EG0600FBVFP , SN: KWxxxxx, version: HPDC, related event serial number: A66399, related event code: 55)

This error gets generated when the MSA does the disk scrub i think. However it still shows a green tick on the disk in the enclousure view.

I have ordered 5 brand new disks to be added tomorrow to the enclosure.

Would it be best to add the new disks, configure as dedicated spares, then use the trust command do you think?

Can I send the logs to you in private message to have a look?

Thanks
