Re: Redundancy SAN MSA 1050

I was wondering if I should put my second MSA 1050 SAN 48TB in my second data center and replicate data from the first to the second?

It all depends on your enterprise/architecture requirements.

Or does an MSA 1050 SAN with dual power supply and controller offer sufficient redundancy?

Dual PS and dual controller will offer local redudancy, but not Datacenter redudancy.

If the SAN motherboard malfunctions, will the SAN continue to operate?

No, if your backplane is gone, you will have troubles

My question is the following :
Can a SAN with a power supply and a dual controller deal with any hardware problem that happens to it?

A MSA with one powersupply will have the PS as single point of failure. Dual controller will be controller-failure resistant. A replicated storage array will cover all HW/DC failures.
