I did check with SPOCK team regarding the compatibility.
They have confirmed that ESXI 6.5 Update 2 is currently not compatible with MSA 1040.
SPOCK page would have the updated information related to MSA storage compatibility. and you can use the feedback option in SPOCK page for any clarifications.
