Hi,

MSA is a block level device, thus it is assigning block to a VMDK filesystem or being used as ISCSI direct storage.

Therefore , from MSA perspective , you can use them either way.

Having one pool assigned to VMDK and other to ISCSI storage is also fine, there is nothing wrong in doing it.
